Ryan Pope Strikes Out Eight In Yankees Win

Tampa took care of Dunedin 6-1 and it was Ryan Pope who set the stage on the mound.  He improved to 1-1 and he gave up one run on four hits and one walk with eight strikeouts in five innings of work.

Tampa Finishes Season With Win Over Sarasota

Tampa finished up their season with a 5-4 win over Sarasota and it was Garrett Patterson who picked up the win in his first game for Tampa.  He gave up a run on two hits with the lone blemish being a solo homerun.

Tim Battle’s Tenth Inning Blast Pushes Tampa to Win Over Vero Beach

Tim Battle hit a tenth inning, three run homer to beat Vero Beach 4-1 in ten innings.  It was only his second homerun of the season. 
Joba Chamberlain had a very nice start.  He gave up two hits and two walks with nine strikeouts in eight shutout innings.

Tampa Blows Ninth Inning Lead in Loss to Fort Myers

Tampa pitching gave up four runs in the ninth inning in their 8-5 loss to Fort Myers.  All three Tampa pitchers gave up at least a couple of runs although Wilkin Arias struck out eight in 3 1/3 innings.

Tampa Held to One Run in Loss to Clearwater

Tampa Doubled Up by Clearwater

George Kontos dropped to 0-2 with a mediocre start in the Yankees loss to Clearwater.  He gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts.
Juan Miranda doubled and he drove in both runs for Tampa.  Tim Battle singled, walked twice and scored both runs.
