Tim Battle’s Tenth Inning Blast Pushes Tampa to Win Over Vero Beach

Tim Battle hit a tenth inning, three run homer to beat Vero Beach 4-1 in ten innings.  It was only his second homerun of the season. 
Joba Chamberlain had a very nice start.  He gave up two hits and two walks with nine strikeouts in eight shutout innings.

Ian Kennedy had another nice start and the win pushed his record to 4-1.  He gave up two hits and three walks with eleven strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.  The eleven strikeouts is a season high and Kennedy now has 47 strikeouts in 44 innings.

Four hits usually won’t cut it and it’s especially disappointing when you can’t even score a run.  And that’s what happened in the Yankees 8-0 loss to Dunedin.  There were no extra base hits and the only hitter to reach base twice was Francisco Cervelli, who walked and singled.
