Jeff Samardzija Has Another Nice Start In Daytona Loss

Dayton lost 4-3 to Lakeland, but Jeff Samardzija put together another decent start for the Cubs.  He gave up two runs on six hits and two walks with two strikeouts in five innings of work.  Michael Phelps gave up two runs in his two innings of relief and he took the loss.

Daytona Held to Four Hits In Loss to Brevard County

Gregory Reinhard dropped to 0-1 on the season with a pretty tough start in Daytona’s 7-2 loss to Brevard County.  He gave up five runs on six hits and two walks in three innings.
Kyle Reynolds hit a solo homerun in the loss.  Mark Reed went two for four with an RBI.

Jesse Estrada Hit Hard In Daytona Loss

Jesse Estrada had a tough time in Daytona’s 7-4 loss to Sarasota.  He gave up seven runs on eight hits and two walks with one strikeout in 4 2/3 innings.

Daytona Edges Jupiter 5-4 In Ten Innings

Nate Spears doubled home Mark Reed in the top of the tenth for the game winner as Daytona topped Jupiter 5-4. Matt Matulia got it done in the earlier innings with a nice day at the plate. He went three for five with a double, a triple, two RBIs and a run.

Joel Santo Pitches Daytona to Win Over Jupiter

Joel Santo got it done and he improved to 3-1 on the season.  He gave up just a single run on seven hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings of work.
Kyle Reynolds went three for four with a double and an RBI.  Mark Reed went two for three with a run.
