Josh Thole Hits Sand Gnats to Win Over Greenville

Sand Gnats Make Eight Errors in Blowout Loss to Greenville

Talk about ugly.  Six different Sand Gnats piled up eight errors in todays game and the end result was seven unearned runs.  The pitching wasn’t all that great either but this was downright embarassing.  Tobi Stoner dropped to 0-2 and he gave up five unearned runs.

Greg Mullens Pitches Sand Gnats to Second Straight Win

The Sand Gnats got a nice start from Greg Mullens and he improved to 1-0 on the season.  He gave up one run on five hits with a strikeout in five innings of work.
Leivi Ventura was the hitting star.  He went two for four with a double, a run and an RBI.

Todd Privatt Hammered in Loss to Kannapolis

I’m not sure why he was left in there for so long but Todd Privatt had an absolutely ugly box score in his start against Kannapolis.  He gave up ten runs on fourteen hits and a walk with two strikeouts in three innings in the 10-4 loss.

Nelson Portillo Hit Hard in Loss to Asheville

Walks and errors killed the Sane Gnats tonight.  Tobi Stoner escaped four innings with just one run despite walking four but Nelson Portillo wasn’t as lucky.  He gave up five runs (just one earned) on three hits and three walks in 2 2/3 innings.
