Vegas Drops Fifth Straight Game

Vegas lost another one and this time it was a 5-2 loss to the River Cats.  Greg Miller walked six in three innings but it was Spike Lundberg who gave up the go ahead run and took the loss.
Larry Bigbie was the hitting star.  He went three for five with a run.

Las Vegas’ Offense Sputters In Third Straight Loss

Las Vegas pitchers gave up 15 runs in a 15-1 blowout loss to Tacoma.  Eric Stults took the biggest hit and he also took the loss in his start.  He gave up seven runs on eight and two walks with one strikeout.

Travis Smith Hit Hard in 51s Loss

Matt Kemp, Mitch Jones Power Las Vegas to Blowout Win

Las Vegas blew out Tacoma 9-3 and Matt Kemp and Mitch Jones led the way at the plate.  Kemp homered, tripled and drove in four runs while Jones hit a three run shot.
Luis Gonzalez picked up the win with two innings of solid relief.  Three other relievers combined to throw three inings of shutout ball.

51s pitchers gave up nine walks in their 4-3 loss to Sacramento.  D.J. Houlton had a good enough start but he gave up two runs on three hits and four walks with four strikeouts in six innings.  Luis Gonzalez gave up the run that mattered in the ninth as Las Vegas lost it.

Eric Stults had a good enough start.  He gave up just three runs on eight hits with three strikeouts in six innings of work and he left the game with a tied.  Unfortunately Spike Lundberg gave up three late runs as the 51s lost 6-4.

Choo Freeman’s Grand Slam Helps 51s Top Colorado Springs
