Greg Veloz Scores Four, Drives in Four In Kingsport Win

Angel Calero Throws Five Shutout Innings In Kingsport Win

Angel Calero threw five outstanding innings of shutout relief in Kingsport’s 6-3 win over Bluefield.  He gave up just three hits and a walk with five strikeouts.

Jose Bierd Has Rough Start In Kingsport Loss to Burlington

Jose Bierd had a tough time finding the plate in Kingsport’s 8-7 loss to Burlington.  He gave up five runs (four earned) on three hits and five walks in just 1 1/3 innings.
Darren Clark went two for five with a solo homerun.  Cesar Cordido singled only once but he drove in three runs in the loss.

Kingsport Edges Princeton 7-6

Richard Pena had a big day at the plate in Kingsport’s 7-6 win over Princeton.  He went three for three with a homerun, two RBIs and three runs.  Darren Clark went two for five with two doubles, a run and an RBI.

Kingsport Loses Both Games In Opening Day Doubleheader

Since Kingsport’s home opener was rained out, their first day of games turned into a doubleheader and unfortunately, they lost both.  In the first game, Elizabethton destroyed Kingsport 15-1.  Elvin Ramirez was shelled for seven runs in three innings and Richard Pena went two for three.
