Daniel Gil Throws Five Solid Innings In GCL Yankees Win

Daniel Gil improved to 1-0 on the season with a nice start in the GCL Yankees 6-3 win over the GCL Pirates.  He gave up a pair of runs on two hits and a walk with four strikeouts in five innings.  Dan Miller also pitched in and he threw two shutout innings of relief.

The GCL got some solid pitching from four different pitchers but it was Daniel Gil who was the most impressive and who also picked up the win.  He didn’t give up a single baserunner in three innings and he struck out two.

Zoilo Almonte Has Three Hits and Three RBIs In GCL Yankee’s Win

Zoile Almonte had a great day at the plate in the Yankee’s 7-2 win over the Blue Jays.  He went three for five with two doubles and he drove in three runs.  Prilys Cuello also had a nice game and he went one for three with a walk an RBI and three runs.
